About Us
Welcome to SnoFire Kennels! We are a small kennel located in historic Draper Utah, which is just 20 minutes south of Salt Lake City. Our breeding program strives to produce mentally and physically sound Border Collies and Finnish Spitz with correct conformation and working ability.
We started with Alaskan Malamutes as Shadowridge Kennels in 1993. We enjoyed showing, sledding, and back country packing with our dogs. When we bred, we bred to better the breed through physical and mental health, working ability, conformation, and natural beauty.
In the year 2000, our direction in breeds changed when Shag, a Border Collie, joined our lives. As more Border Collies joined our family, we changed our kennel name to SnoFire.
Currently, our Border Collies enjoy competing in AKC Conformation shows, Rally and Obedience Trials. Our Border Collies also enjoy herding our goats and chickens in the back yard, but we do not yet compete in herding events.
All of our dogs have always been a part of our family. They live in the house with us, go on trips and vacations with us, and even go to work with us. Due to this fact, we feel very protective of every puppy born here at SnoFire. Therefore, we do not breed very often. When we do breed, our puppies are sold only to pre approved homes under strict contracts. We want our puppies to become a part of your family that will be able to provide you with many years of joy.
We also assist in Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, and Finnish Spitz rescue and re-homing when needed.
We are proud members of the Border Collie Society of America, Finnish Spitz Club of America, and the Bonneville Basin Kennel Association.
Since we do not breed very often, reservations for our puppies are strongly recommended.
